KINDER.LABEL is a Gold Coast–based fashion label founded by Austrian-born designer Carina Thompson in early 2025. Grounded in a slow and conscious approach to design, the label creates one of one garments by transforming overlooked and pre-loved materials into contemporary pieces that move effortlessly between everyday wear and occasion.

Every collection begins with the material. Fabrics and garments are sourced first - often from op shops, vintage textiles, or discarded materials - their unique qualities become the starting point for each design. Through deconstruction and reconstruction, existing textiles are reimagined into refined, contemporary silhouettes, allowing their history, texture, and character to shape the final outcome.

Defined by simplicity in form, KINDER.LABEL balances clean lines with craftsmanship, texture, and subtle detail. Every garment is unique, celebrating the individuality of the materials from which it was created while embracing the beauty of imperfection and reinvention. At its core, the label challenges the idea that luxury must be new, offering an alternative vision of fashion where creativity, longevity, and conscious design take precedence over excess.

Carina's approach is informed by a European appreciation for craftsmanship and sustainability, alongside years spent living in China and travelling throughout Asia. These experiences continue to shape her design language, drawing inspiration from cultural environments, historic interiors, decorative wallpapers, European tapestries, and traditional textiles. Rather than replicating these references, she interprets their colours, textures, and narratives through modern, relaxed silhouettes that feel effortless, tactile, and timeless.

Before launching KINDER.LABEL, Carina worked in luxury retail with brands including Prada and Bulgari, where she developed a deep appreciation for garment construction, quality, and contemporary ready-to-wear. Entirely self-taught as a designer, she approaches fashion through an intuitive, material-led process, allowing each textile to guide the design rather than imposing a predetermined outcome.

Working as a fully independent, one-person studio, Carina personally sources, designs, and constructs every garment by hand. This close relationship with each piece allows for complete creative control and results in thoughtful, highly considered garments that reflect both the integrity of the materials and the care invested in their transformation.

In 2026, KINDER.LABEL was selected to present its Spring/Summer collection as part of the Brisbane Fashion Festival Next Gen Group Show, marking an important milestone for the label. Through every collection, KINDER.LABEL continues to explore the potential of circular fashion while creating contemporary garments that honour the past while offering a considered future for the materials from which they are made.
